…Exceeding Abundantly Above…

Our God is able to do so much more than we can ever imagine. He knows our every need. He supplies so that His work can be done. Unto Him be the glory.

As I mentioned in our last newsletter, we had to leave Safe Harbor Puerto del Rey marina due to a change in their policy of mooring vessels on the seawall. The marina staff gave us tremendous support during our 26-month stay there, but we had to move on. There are no other marinas in Puerto Rico with available, affordable berths for us. It appeared our only choice was to relocate back to the mainland United States. I put out a special prayer request, and God’s people started lifting

Sea Hope in prayer. And HE answered.

I thought we needed to go to San Juan Harbor. It seemed the perfect place. But God knew (and knows) best. We exhausted ourselves looking and finally resigned ourselves to having to leave Puerto Rico because we had done all we could do....and that is when He stepped in.

Our deadline for leaving Puerto del Rey was less than a week away when we were told to come to the commercial port of Puerto del Ponce. A space was provided there in a
great harbor at a very good price. We moved Sea Hope there on August 15th. The mayor was on the pier to greet us. His wife visited the ship. She then brought pastors, medical personnel, and others to see Sea Hope. Next she and the mayor hosted a meeting in his office with local hospital administrators to help us find medical equipment needed for Emmanuel Medical Center and other facilities in Haiti. Ponce Baptist Church contacted me wanting to be our home base in Ponce. Another local pastor has really gotten involved
in helping us find needed repair parts and supplying material for us to take to Haiti. The reception in Ponce has been just amazing.

He knew...and though I did not see it at the time...He made all things work together for the good of the Sea Hope ministry. Truly He is worthy.

We just returned from a trip to Haiti where we delivered about 40,000 pounds of food, school supplies, and other items to 3 different ministries. God worked miraculously to provide the needed materials. Our loading party consisted of 35 people from Ponce and other local areas. We had a crew of 9 with three first time members, and four of the crew were from Puerto Rico. Leaving and returning to Ponce saved a day’s worth of sailing. We used 500 gallons less of fuel during the trip.
