Operation GO

“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”  (Galatians 6:10).

This verse really speaks to me.  I heard Pastor Randy Barton interview a Haitian pastor on WGCR radio about how the COVID-19 virus had impacted his church.  The pastor responded that more people would die of starvation than from the virus.  God used that interview to birth the first mission for Sea Hope…Operation GO, Taking Food to Haiti.  GO stands for God’s Opportunity.  The folks in Haiti are suffering the aftereffects of a drought, political instability, and COVID-19 restrictions.  Sea Hope can be used to help brothers and sisters in Christ who are in need.

Operation GO is a combined effort by Operation Renewed Hope, Anchor Baptist Disaster Network, Reaching Our Caribbean, and Sea Hope to deliver 40,000 pounds of food (beans and rice) to two different national pastors in Haiti sometime in September.   For security purposes, I cannot give any more details than that.  The two pastors are well known and trusted by Pastor Barton and Jan Milton.   The national pastors will distribute the food to their congregations and to other churches.  The nationals also asked us to bring toothbrushes, tooth paste, bars of soap, and powdered milk.  I ask you to please help us with these needs.  You can send any items to Sea Hope, c/o Landry Boat Works, 8655 E. Davenport Street, Bayou La Batre, Al. 36509 or send a donation through our website www.myseahope.com (use the Get Involved page to donate electronically).

COVID-19 has caused us to postpone several presentations at churches; we have not presented our work since early March.  As a result, our financial position is weaker than I expected it to be.  We will have some added expenses for the trip.  Please consider a special, one-time gift to help with these costs.  Funds need to be in by August 21st to help with the trip.

High and Dry For Her Annual Maintenance…

High and Dry For Her Annual Maintenance…

Sea Hope is currently hauled out of the water for her annual inspection and cleaning.  We found some issues that need to be addressed and those repairs are in progress.  Once they are completed, all that is left is the cosmetic painting of the exterior and the final touch-up to the electronic installation.   Volunteer travel restrictions have caused the shipyard period to last longer than planned, but the final product is worth the wait.  We have made some significant upgrades to Sea Hope that will make her a better platform.  Mary and I are anxious to get Sea Hope ready to sail…just a few short weeks, Lord willing.

 Thank You, Lord

The Lord has blessed us with so many volunteers from churches across the USA, even during a pandemic, and also with accommodations for them at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Pascagoula, MS and Pine Air Baptist Church in Grand Bay, AL. We thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts…to God Be the Glory.

If you are not already supporting MY SEA HOPE, PLEASE PRAYFULLY CONSIDER doing so by sending your monthly or one-time donation payable to:
