Unto Him…

Mary and I were in North Carolina for November and December. We were able to enjoy time with family, and especially enjoyed getting to meet our first great-grandson Carlton W. Puryear V, my namesake .

We were able also to visit several churches to update them on the work SEA HOPE was able to do this past year.

Looking back it is truly awe inspiring to see all God has done, how He met each need, and lead us through each difficulty we encountered. We have a God that is able.

2022

We are planning our next SEA HOPE mission, and it is the most ambitious one to date. We are working with Medical Missions Outreach to conduct a medical clinic in Haiti. This is a well established, experienced group that has a burden to reach the lost through the power of medicine. They are working on the medical details and we are working on the logistics of the trip. I can not go into many details due to the security situation in Haiti, but know we will be as prudent as we can be. Even so, we truly are relying on God’s protection. Please keep this trip on your prayer list. We need wisdom to get all the details worked out and we truly need God to watch over us each step of the way.

We were also able to meet with two additional ministries while in NC over Christmas. One does disaster and relief work world-wide, and they envision using SEA HOPE here in the Caribbean in certain situations. We are in early discussions with them about carrying some supplies to Haiti simultaneously with this upcoming medical clinic trip to Haiti.

The other ministry also does medical clinics. I had lunch with the lead doctor and there is great promise of a cooperative effort with this organization. Their 2022 schedule was filled up but we are looking further out. This is really an exciting opportunity and a wonderful door God has opened.

Ship Update

Last September Puerto Del Rey Marina where SEA HOPE is docked was sold. The new ownership plans to turn the seawall where SEA HOPE is moored into a dock for super yachts. This construction will necessitate SEA HOPE relocating.

The marina staff has explored all options in an effort to keep us at Puerto Del Rey and there just is not a pier available for a vessel our size. Once the building permits are obtained we will have to leave, and we think that will be in just a couple of months. We have looked for other marinas here in Puerto Rico and there are not any that are suitable.

However, the Puerto Rican government owns San Juan Harbor and the old Roosevelt Roads naval station. Both have suitable spaces, but both places are for commercial vessels. Please pray that God will open a door to one of these locations.

Puerto Rico offers a great strategic location, ease of transportation, and readily available supplies for SEA HOPE's operations in the Caribbean.

Mary and I know God lead us here. We have laid our prayers and petitions before Him asking Him to direct our steps along a plain path. Please join us in praying for His guidance. It is time to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ep 3:20-21
